How to Calculate your Project Cost
A free worksheet to help you figure out a realistic budget for your dream home
If you are thinking about building a custom house, the #1 question on your mind is probably “How much is it going to cost?”.
Unfortunately, I can’t give you $ figures, not without knowing you and your particular project. Your project location, scope of the project, the local construction market i.e demand and supply, your goals and expectations, etc., all dictate the cost.
If you want a straight answer though, please give me a call (or call your local architect), and let’s discuss your project.
A common mistake I see is that people often hone in on the “construction cost” and forget that there are other costs associated with a custom residential project. And this can lead to misunderstandings and a mismanaged budget.
That’s why I’ve put together this material, to help you understand the different cost buckets, so that you can allocate your funds, and manage your “overall project costs“.
In this free download you’ll discover:
- What are “hard costs” and “soft costs” in a custom residential project
- What is the difference between them
- How to calculate “hard costs” and “soft costs”
- How to use the free worksheet to set realistic goals and adjust the scope of the project if necessary
This is a tool that I use to help my clients make decisions related to planning their overall budget. This is a vital step before making a financial investment in your dream house.
