Why:
Just as a doctor wouldn't prescribe treatment without a proper diagnosis, I can’t propose design solutions without seeing the existing conditions and understanding the problems. Let’s not rush into design and drawings before we know what to design and draw. Remember, this is the planning stage of the project. The priority is to establish the right direction for your project and discuss if and how we can align your scope-of-work, budget, and schedule.
What to expect:
We’ll walk through your house/ site to see the conditions we are working with. We'll identify the problem areas, discuss what you love vs hate. We’ll talk in-depth about your lifestyle, specific needs, and goals. Then, we can brainstorm a few design ideas and options, explore the possibilities for space planning, and see what resonates with you. We’ll crunch the $ numbers and talk about a realistic timeline for your project.
What’s next:
This is a low-commitment-consultation. If we think that we are not a good fit for each other, you can still use the design ideas and information you learn from this exercise. However, if we find that we are a great fit and you are interested in pursuing the project, I can put together a custom proposal for architectural services based on an established scope of work. You can then decide whether you want to move forward with me as your architect. Afterall, choosing the right architect is one of the biggest decisions you need to make in the planning stage.
